Website Portfolio

For the moment, selected sites for my partial website portfolio:

eCommerce:

  • Universal Tour & Travel Service - Company no longer exists (no, not because of my website design). This was a full service travel agency and one of my first professional sites. Site exists here only for enjoyment. Please don't try to book a flight.
  • W.B. Stanford Company - (Site is currently offline due to the physical relocation of the company) I designed this site for a company that currently sells frames, magnets, and jewelry online.

Government/Research:

  • Arctic Change - I designed the look of this site along with the use of some rather cool XSSI (eXtended Server Side Includes) navigation. Another cool thing about this site is that it was used in conjunction with an international meeting on Arctic change held in Iceland in 2004.
  • Arctic Web Cam - I did not design the site's overall look but I have dealings with the web end of the camera. These are the first web cams deployed at the North Pole and they got quite a bit of attention by scientists and layfolk alike. News of the cameras made it into Slashdot, international websites, and The New York Times.
  • Hawaiian Archipelago - I designed the look of the site for the University of Hawaii. It was kind of nifty to be able to integrate a few subtle "Hawaii" things into the design and come up with a different type of collage for the homepage.
  • Argo - I designed the look of the site. Just thought I'd mention it.
  • Bering Climate - I designed the look of the site. This is the hair-pulling third version we went through.
  • National Center for Tsunami Research - This was a complete redesign of a redesign of the older PMEL Tsunami site. It is one of three tsunami sites that I created in the aftermath of the Indian Ocean Dec. 26, 2004 tsunami. I've added some interesting Google Maps in the "Events" page.
  • PI Reports (ppt) - I coded PHP pages as part of a development team. I also designed the look. This is a private financial site so no link is provided to the actual site. But trust me--it's cool. A PowerPoint presentation was given at a conference (not by me) so the link goes to that file.
  • PMEL Publications - I completely re-coded an ASP site to a PHP/MySQL site with full admin interface for the PMEL Publications department. It's the largest PHP site I've coded solo and turned out rather well. We received a query from a government office asking if we could do a similar application for them.
  • Tsunami (NOAA) - I designed the look of the site and coded the PHP in the internal site. This is one of three tsunami sites that I created in the aftermath of the Indian Ocean Dec. 26, 2004 tsunami.
